Project in Shriva Village, Gujarat, India with WASMO
March 2009
In Shirva Village, located in the coastal areas of Kachchh, Gujarat, a WaterPyramid is set-up in close cooperation with the Water and Sanitation Management Organization (WASMO) of Gujarat. Over the years WASMO has been testing a variety of innovative solutions to purify saltish water.
In Shirva Village, Reverse Osmosis (RO) installations are used to desalinate salt water. One of the disadvantages of the installation is that apart from fresh water, an extremely saltish brine is produced, spoiling the environment. In order to reduce impact on the environment a WaterPyramid will be used to desalinate the brine waste steam and to produce fresh water for the local villagers using the environmental friendly production methods of the WaterPyramid.
At this moment the waterfactory is working well and the selling of the water has begun.
