| Tulip Siphon Filter |
UsageThe Tulip Siphon Filter is a unique ceramic filter used by families to purify water from sediments, bacteria and protozoa. The filter is impregnated with colloidal silver, is easy to install and to operate. Just pour dirty water into a bucket, place it at a height of about 1,5 meter. Then place the Tulip filter into the bucket and press the hand pump firmly. As a result the water is sucked through the filter, is purified and cleaned and can be collected at the bottom of the hose after opening the tap. The Tulip filters have been extensively tested are used already by 10.000’s of people in India and Africa.

Target groupsFamilies in both urban and rural areas, suffering from fresh water contaminated with sediments, bacteria and protozoa . Production and lifetimeThe Tulip filter produces about 5 liters of fresh water per hour, about 50 liters per day. The filter element lasts between 6 months and 2 years, dependent on the quality of the source water. TechnologySmart appropriate technology is the basis for the Tulip Filter. The ceramic filter element is made out of diatomaceous earth, a substance consisting of fossilized remains of diatoms. The tiny skeletons contain extremely small holes, acting superbly as a bacterial filter. The filters are impregnated with silver particles, capable to reduce and stop the growth of bacteria and protozoa. Water is forced though the fine filter as a result of a vacuum that is created by the hand pump at the low end of the hose. The Tulip Siphon Filter
