Rain water harvesting made easy
Friday, 10 February 2012 12:11

In our view the value of rainwater harvesting in solving water scarcity problems is underestimated.

For that reason we initiated a study on smart rainwater harvesting by a team of 4 MSc. Industrial Design students of Delft Technical University.

Practical input & focus

For practical input and field research the team visited Timor, Indonesia for 6 weeks in a row. Numerous sites were visited, interviews held with stakeholders and officials.

The study focussed finally on the development of a smart and flexible catchment area. Once that problem is solved, the water can be easily stored in the AAWS RainCap tanks and made available for (human) consumption.

Thanks to students!

We would like to thanks the 4 students Aimee, Marloes, Iris and Rui Li for the excellent work they did and hope to materialise their solutions into practice soon.
