How the food security in Mozambique was improved…

In a number of developing countries food security is threatened as a result of increasing populations, climate change and rising cost of fertilizer. Local (subsistence) farmers obtain problems in delivering sufficient crop yields to feed their families.

The latter is also the case in Mozambique where we were invited by the Frysian Urban Sanitation Program to help develop a method to produce 100% hygienic, high quality compost for local subsistence farmers.

Read here about the striking results and how the farmers did react once the results were achieved.

Latest news is that the Xia Xia, the city were the compost activities were established,  has decided to broaden the activities so that far more farmers can start benefitting from this innovative composting approach.
